TENURE TRACK POSITION IN LITERATURE
Yale-NUS College, a collaboration between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Yale University, seeks to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor in literature whose training focuses on comparative and cross-cultural approaches.
Areas of specialization and periods are open, but we particularly seek candidates whose work engages in some way with the Americas/Caribbean, East Asia (excluding China), Southeast Asia, or sub-Saharan Africa. (Current faculty specialties can be seen here: http://faculty.yale-nus.edu.sg/.)
Applicants should be active researchers with a commitment to creative and effective undergraduate teaching and mentoring and to the Yale-NUS Common Curriculum (http://www.yale-nus.edu.sg/curriculum/common-curriculum). The successful candidate will participate in Common Curriculum team teaching, offer upper-level electives in her/his area of specialization, and provide senior capstone advising in the Literature major. An ongoing research program that incorporates undergraduate students would be highly desirable.
Salary, benefits, and leave policies will be competitive at an international level. Yale-NUS College is committed to supporting faculty research through various grants, research, and travel allowances.
To apply, please submit the following materials for full consideration: CV; statements on research, teaching and contribution to curriculum; and three letters of reference via https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/YaleNUS.
Review of applications will begin on December 4, 2015, in anticipation of the annual meeting of the Modern Language Association, and continues through January 2016.
Inquiries should be made to Search Committee Chair Rajeev Patke, Director of the Humanities Division and Professor of Humanities, at yale-nus.college@yale.edu. For additional information about Yale-NUS College and the faculty hiring process, including submission guidelines, we invite you to our web site at: http://www.yale-nus.edu.sg/.
